My dad gave me his blessing to take the RX-7 around the block. 1979. That is now the oldest car I have ever driven. Even though the cruise was short, something was strikingly different about driving this car, in a good way. It sounds like a little Japanese hot rod. This drive solidified the fact having a rotary spinning away in front of you is so much cooler than pistons. ;)
Also, i love looking at the dash instruments.

I had no idea you had one of these at your house. My dad used to have an 84 SE 5spd and a 87 SE 5spd. He said if he was going to buy some cheap knock around sports car he'd want a RX7 like his 84 back.

Sadly its not one of the nicer models. Heck, its not even a 5speed. Its mileage, 35K, is the only thing its got going for it. However when i drove it, i couldnt car about any of that. Its a sweet little ride.

One day, I'll return to the rotary life!
